Where to Work in Bali as a Digital Nomad

Three caffees worth your laptop time in the Ungasan area — and an honest take on paid coworking spaces.

I spent some time in Bali in 2026, based in the Ungasan area, and it took me a while to discover where the best spot to do work actually is. In this post I'll share those places.

Tanah

Google Maps

It's a big open space with plenty of comfortable chairs and tables. The coffee and food are delicious and the price is good.

Upside: spacious, great food, fair prices.
Downside: sometimes it gets too noisy — if you want to do deep focus work, it might not be the best spot.

Kasia Cafe + Co-working

Google Maps

A small coffee store with a coworking space. There's a minimum spend of 50K IDR. It's usually not busy at all and very quiet, so if you're looking for a spot to do deep focus work, this is the one.

Upside: quiet and rarely busy — ideal for deep focus.
Downside: the coffee and food aren't very good here.

BGS Bali Surf Shop & Coffee Bar — Dreamland

Google Maps

If you're a surfer, this is your spot. It's very social — mostly surfers who work remotely in Bali come here. The coffee is very good.

Upside: great coffee, social crowd of remote-working surfers.
Downside: not the best place for quiet, long-hour focus work.

Coworking spaces

Personally, I'm not a big fan of coworking places. You pay 200K–300K per day and you don't get much for that money beyond a table and a chair to sit and work.

As my friend Eric, who I was traveling with, and I like to say: we get paid to do work, not pay to do work.
